Cultural Resistance
As you can see celebrities such as Colin, Megan, Dwyane, and Jay-Z have shown cultural resistance by using their platform to shed light on social justice issues. The importance that this has on their career and to their followers is very impactful. Their response to these issues can make a big political statement to the world. A lot of their followers can relate and are impacted directly by these social justice issues. These issues are just as important as it is to their followers so is it for the celebrity, because of their own story that we’ve read about. Many people now often use social media platforms for sources of news.
